Lenses

• Like other King's goggles, KY717 safety glasses at work are also made of Polycarbonate material. This is a thermoplastic polymer with the advantages of easy machinability, impact resistance and shatter resistance.
• Safety glasses made of polycarbonate plastic have many outstanding properties over glass lenses and CR-39 plastic, especially impact resistance, shatter resistance and UV blocking. Polycarbonate lenses block 100% of UV rays. Light weight is also an advantage of polycarbonate lenses over CR-39 glass and plastic.
• it also has some disadvantages which is higher production cost than CR-39 glass and plastic lenses. Scratches easily (so usually coated with an anti-scratch coating) and less optically than glass and CR-39 plastic.
• According to the EN 166 standard, the lenses of the KY717 are class 1 lenses of high optical quality suitable for frequent wear. Diopter measurement ± 0.06 does not cause eye pain.

• Polycarbonate lenses are easy to scratch, so people must add an anti-scratch layer to improve the durability of the glass. The anti-scratch coating does not affect optics and affects vision, but creates a permanent coating on the lenses that reduces the risk of scratches that are common with lenses.
